AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS

Beyond exciting! A few projects in different countries will allow me to do a dream round-the-world trip across the five continents in the next 80 days! It's what I call blog-trotting...

My schedule looks grosso modo like that:
Oct. 1-7: Paris Fashion Week
Oct. 8-13: Tel Aviv (Israel)
Oct. 15-24: Seoul (South Korea) Fashion Week
Oct. 25-26: Taipei (Taiwan)
Oct. 27-30: Bangkok (Thailand)
Oct. 31: Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
Nov. 1-5: Jakarta (Indonesia)
Nov. 6 - Dec. 3: Australia (Perth, Melbourne & Sydney) and New Zealand (Auckland & Wellington?)
Dec. 4-11: Cape Town (South Africa)
Dec. 12-17: São Paulo (Brasil), Lacoste party
Dec. 18-20: Buenos Aires (Argentina)
Dec. 21-... Back to Switzerland for Christmas

I'll explore many cities and countries for the first time, so your thoughts and suggestions as a local are more than welcome. I'll try to share with you as much as possible of what I see... via this page, my personnal blog, Twitter and hopefully a few Facehunter Show episodes (Reykjavik is getting edited now). See you around!

Im from Argentina, and if your matter is fashion, trendy people, etc. You should go to Palermo Soho, which is a neighborhood in the capital of Buenos Aires with a lot of cool restaurants and designer clothing, and at weekends you can see a lot of fashionable people that looks like models haha.

But if you want to see a little bit of our culture, you should go to a neighborhood called Boca, where there is a lot of tango and colorful houses.

Finally, if you want to eat dinner at a good restaurant, the neighborhood Puerto Madero, is a very good place, is the newest nborhood and there are the most expensive apartments and houses,

Yay! Melbourne! The beauty of this city is you can find incredible street fashion right in the CBD. Hang out around RMIT university on Swanston St, or grab coffee in Degraves St. For the more classically bohemian district, head to Brunswick St, Fitzroy.

You are going to love Cape Town! If students are still in session when you are there, you should really check out the fashion forwards all around Stellenbosch and UCT. Also, the neighborhoods including Gardens, Observatory and the always nice Camps Bay should give you some great inspiration. Enjoy!

It doesnt seem to appear in your mind that only for taking some fashion pictures you travel thousands of miles by plane- ever heard about global warming? I know you love your job but maybe you should consider that flying around the world once per year is as you would drive a car 50 km everyday! Global warming is happening, WE are responsible for it, and it is proven that natural disasters like hurricanes intensify because of global warming- so do your part and maybe hire on-site people to take pics for you

Hey, Yvan!

Gosh, it's so cool you're finally coming to Buenos Aires... I'm afraid you won't find it as interesting as... say... Iceland or Finland... (you always take the most amazing pictures at Reykjavik and Helsinki! IMHO)
But here are some recommendations:

A cool place where you can catch some stylish fish is the University of Buenos Aires' School of Architecture & Design (that's: Universidad de Buenos Aires - Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo).

Then you can definitely take a walk around Recoleta (you could visit Plaza Francia: an outdoor hippie fair, the surroundings of the Museum of Fine Arts, or the MALBA: Museum of Latin American Arts of Buenos Aires), Palermo "Soho", also known as Palermo "Hollywood" (a bit overrated, if you ask me!), San Telmo, or Puerto Madero (they're all neightborhoods).

And if you wanna check out a little bit of the music scene, you can attend the Gustavo Cerati concert (December 19th) at Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires (outdoor concert). I'm sure you'll find lots of interesting people and enjoy amazing music by whom is considered to be one of the greatest Latin American rock musicians ever (not just by Latin American people, he's recently recorded a new track with Roger Waters, for instance).

Well, sorry about the length of this post, I can't help it, I'm really detail-oriented! lol

BESOS from Buenos Aires,

Clara (big fan of your art)

to be honest, malaysians are extremely unstylish but since you are there for a day it will be worth it to savour Kuala Lumpur just for the food alone. at night, go to Jalan Ah Lor for amazing and cheap Malaysian good. extremely yummy.

Jalan Ah Lor
Various Market Stalls
7pm-late

"Located North West of Jalan Bukit Bintang is a wide selection of local food. Some of the best Chinese hawker stalls as well as good coffee shops can be found here. The food is very inexpensive but the quality is excellent. The whole street is full of hawker type of food stalls and all offer tasty local delicacies. One restaurant I have tried and would recommend is Shui Kee Restaurant at 37 Jalan Alor. They are open from 5pm to 4am and their Char Kway Teow is excellent."

I´m from Buenos Aires. The obvious places you will find them soon. I suggest you to enter into the artsy scene, small art galleries get good audience, Appetite, PH, Daniel Abate. You need some artsy pals.
Then you maybe like Feria de Mataderos (not fashionable people, but quite unique). the best parties are private but if there is a Bumbumbox or a Zizek check them out.
I´m flying to Svizzera the 21st too, may be we fly together, i will try to be stylish!

For your trip in Bangkok, there is an amazing show of the NYC ballet in Thailand Cultural Center on Saturday the 17th at night. Yes, next to Kao san road you get the trendy bars, lumphono night market is designer's but also asian/crowdy/messy style bazaar.

And anyways, Thailand is such a good place for you, everyone is trendy, doing what he can with his own budget.

Do you know of any nice event going on during your stay?

Im from south africa and i see your heading that way...

great stuff.. cape town is the fashion capital but i must let you know that Joburg is not far behind.. theres alot of local trends that stick to the city.. for eg: alot of the fashionistas are mixing local culture with high end fashion... same applys for durban.

As for sydney.. this is where i live now.. and ill have to say there are alot of trends and fashionistas that stand out.. alot of the trendy people tend to be on oxford street in paddinton..newtown, kings cross and generally scattered all around the city..

Melbourne is in the forefront of sydney fashion.. alot of the trends that the country follows usually start in melbourne.. so it would be soo cool if you could start there then progress to sydney..

have a great time..
