palm trees! cant wait.
can't wait for the facehunter show episode! :)

heat at coachella (but it shouldn't be too bad this year), good designer outlet shopping at cabazon, lots of sunshine, style and shooting wise, there is a ton of variety here in LA, most of it of the laid-back sort.
at coachella you can expect the same thing over and over on girls: fedora, raybans, sandals, ugly dresses, rompers, hipsters (mostly wannabe hipsters), etc.
there's not much in palm springs besides retired couples, golf, and blue sky.
lots and lots to be found in LA, depending which neighbourhoods you frequent.
Come to Silverlake!
super will look forward to that!
you should come to Reno, Nevada. It's right next to California.
try checking out santa barbara (where i live) it's very beautiful, and has great architecture, there are many people with great style there also, and might be worth it!
Young people in Los Angeles put allot of effort into looking like they put in no effort...
you should come to san francisco. los angeles and san francisco are practically foreigners! both have lots of great style & diversity. enjoy cali, yvan.
HEAT!
its only april and its hot and windy in the OC!
Yvan, PLEASE come to San Diego! A West Coast trip is not complete without San Diego and it is so close by to where you will be.
Be sure to let us know if California lives up to it's Hollywood reputation. Bon Voyage!
Oh man, I just had a thought, the girls out there are going to looooove you.
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

go to San Francisco...people are much more willing to take risk...to quote the village people "it is a city known for its freedom"
hello! i'll be at coachella (but only on the 18th). make sure you dress well for the socal heat! and enjoy the music and have lots of fun!!
xx
Streetfancy will keep an eye out for facehunter at coachella :)
Yay! I hope to see you around!!!!! or maybe make it on your site! that would be awesome. You will love LA. :) just make sure to go to the cool clubs.
you will probably see a LOT of urban outfitters spring collection, american apparel, and gladiator sandals at coachella. meh.
come to san francisco and berkeley! lots of good vintage styles!
Yeah San Fran is a lot better...I mean Los Angeles was named one of the worst dressed
Adding another plug for the San Francisco Bay area. There are many stylish people here, just waiting for your lens to arrive! :)
There are a lot of amazing people there!
I adore L.A.
Have fun and good luck!!
sun and tans! might as well keep going north and hit up the bay area. san francisco is gorgeous right now!
hit me up if you decide to go to the bay area (SF) and i will let you know where all the cool parties with beautifully dressed people are :)
Hi, I'd like to clear some confusion from some other comments. The fashion in San Francisco is horrible, especially for what you're looking for. There is no young, or vibrant, or creative scene. Instead it's a collection of pseudo sophisticated cynics walking around idly in the almost bare Haight/Ashbury.
I grew up in San Francisco and LA (divorced parents), and Los Angeles absolutely kills the north in terms of fashion, but it's harder to find in LA. Try going to the Melrose flea market on sunday mornings, or hanging around in Silverlake and Hollywood.
I live in Santa Barbara for school right now, and someone had mentioned to go there...? Don't. Waste of time. The only place you could find fashionable students or adults there is at SBCC, the city college. The students in Isla Vista are generally hot, but not fashionable. The adults are subpar and lack sophistication of any type.
San Diego is a bastion of RVCA clad bros and short skirted hoes. The fashionable few are all junkies and you're unlikely to find them in daylight.
I think you'll find a bunch of great looking folk at Coachella, so keep that plan.
And I think another commenter mentioned to go to Reno, Nevada? Don't.
The LA style is very very unique if you know what you're looking for. The styles that are always in:
emaciation
effortless chic
unmanaged but beautiful hair
excessive jewelry
lots of skin
a 'natural' look, even in cosmetics
most style blogs featured around LA don't really capture any of this, but the sartorialist came close in the last half of last year. Histyley and others pale in comparison.
If you want a very creative area, I'd suggest lurking outside of the most fucked up private schools in LA, getting the over the top wealthy kids like around Crossroads or Pac Hills, and if you're looking more for adults try silverlake or echo park.
You'll find style wherever you go. You're an artist with an eye. Be spontaneous. There are people who are duplicating every look everywhere in the world and there are those unique gems anywhere as well. Be it SF, LA, Coachella, or as far north as beautiful stoned Humboldt county; all up the Coast, California is a mixture of laid back (sometimes lazy) beach town, semi chic, expensive (fake) gold bling-ish wearing, nonchalant attitudes with implanted breasts and semi nude but kind of conservative moderates with an i care don't care enough about anything but nothing is good enough (anti) i love and hate hollywood smorgasbord of cultures and people.
You'll know what to do because you're you damn it, and you'll find the ones worth documenting.
Stay where the music is hot and the people are real. Really sexy and really into being authentic and unpretentious. Hearts and Hugs.
ya baby come to LA...!!!!!
LA is the PERFECT next stop for your work! Have a great time while your here.... it could use a little of your magic.
Who cares...NYC owns (at least in the US)
yay! come see me
if you really want to check out SERIOUS fashion- check out LA's fashion district by Santee Alley. The buyers that work in these showrooms, are always dressed AHMAZING. KIller! You MUST MUST MUST MUST check out downtown la.
total hipster scene, with a background of the most amazing archetecture in LA.
check out either the gothic lolita scene or the 6o's revival scene...different and fun, both
